Support

Nightsesh is now StudyGPA. Same app, same company (Sparks Strategies LLC). This page still uses the old name in places while we update it; everything on it applies to StudyGPA.

Nightsesh is an AI study platform for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It turns your classes and your own material into notes and practice cards, and gives you an AI tutor you can type or talk to, plus Walk & study. Need help? Email support@nightsesh.com. A real person reads every message, and we aim to reply within 2 business days.

When you write, please tell us which device you're using (iPhone, iPad or Mac). Never send passwords or payment details. We never need them.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any time), or call 911 in an emergency. You can also text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line). Nightsesh's support email isn't watched around the clock.

The AI tutor

How do I ask the AI tutor something?
Tap the round AI tutor button at the bottom of the screen to type, or hold it for Voice and talk out loud. You can add a photo with +. The AI tutor sees the page you're on (the chip says what it's "Seeing"), and it can look through all of your own notes, cards, files, Jots and photos, in every Topic. When it uses your material, it says which Topic it came from.

Will it just give me the answer?
It tells you first whether you're right, and where it went wrong if you're not. If you clearly ask for the answer, it gives it to you, with why. It helps a lot with writing: outlines, ideas, feedback and editing your own work. It won't write a finished assignment for you to hand in. On a practice card, it waits for you to try first, then gives the answer if you ask.

What is "Hints first"?
A setting that makes the AI tutor start with hints and questions before it gives an answer. Turn it on in Settings › AI tutor. It can be locked with a 4-digit passcode, for example by a parent. It's saved on that device only, and we never see the passcode, so we can't unlock it for you. If the passcode is forgotten, deleting and reinstalling Nightsesh turns Hints first off. Your synced Topics, Folders, notes and conversations come back when you sign in, but class recordings saved only on that device are deleted with the app.

Where are my old chats?
In the AI tutor's History. Each Topic's old chats became one conversation named after that Topic. New conversations aren't tied to a Topic, so the AI tutor can help with anything. A new conversation starts when you tap New chat, or by itself after about 30 minutes away.

What happens to my conversations if I delete a Topic?
They stay, including the one made from that Topic's old chats, until you delete them. Anything in them that came from the deleted Topic shows as "from a deleted Topic".

Why are there questions from my conversations in Study?
After a conversation goes quiet, the AI tutor may write up to two Quiz questions from it for your Study feed, filed to the Topic they're about. They're checked before they appear, and they use a little of your AI help. Deleting the conversation or the Topic deletes them too.

Are my voice conversations recorded?
No audio is saved. What you say is saved as words in the conversation, next to the AI tutor's replies, so you can scroll back. To delete a conversation, swipe it in the AI tutor's History and tap Delete.

Coming up and your calendar

What is Coming up?
Your list of tests, quizzes and assignments, in the sidebar. Add one yourself, tell the AI tutor ("bio test Friday") and it adds it with Undo, or tap to add a date a class note mentions. The AI tutor uses what's coming up in the next three weeks to plan what you study. To delete one, swipe it in Coming up and tap Delete.

Does Nightsesh read my calendar?
Only if you turn on Settings › AI tutor › Use my calendar. It works with any calendar on your device, including Google, Outlook or school calendars you've added to it. Nightsesh reads event titles and dates for the next three weeks, on your device, only to find tests, quizzes and assignments, and offers them in Coming up. Only the ones you add are sent to Nightsesh (and so to the AI tutor). Add automatically (off unless you turn it on) adds them without asking each time. Turn the calendar off in the same place, and remove access in your device's Settings › Privacy & Security › Calendars.

Plans and billing

How do I pay?
All payments go through Apple, using the payment method on your Apple Account. We never see your card details.

What do the plans include?

That's the whole lineup: one plan, and nothing extra to buy inside the app.

Both plans start with 7 days free for new subscribers (one free trial per Apple Account, on whichever plan you start). Prices are in U.S. dollars. The price shown in the App Store before you buy is the one that applies.

How do class notes work?
Record a class on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Ask your teacher first; Nightsesh checks with you before your first recording. Recording and the transcript are free and happen on your device, and the audio never leaves it. Then tap Make my notes. Nightsesh turns the transcript, your jots and marks, and the text from any board photos or slides into organized notes: the big ideas, definitions, what your teacher stressed, and questions to check yourself.

Making notes uses your plan's AI help (see below), and a longer class uses a bit more. You can edit notes yourself, ask the AI tutor to change them (like "split this into parts"), and use Quiz me. The AI tutor can use your notes whenever you ask it something.

What does "about 30 classes a month" mean?
Nightsesh Plus includes an amount of AI help each month. Turning a class into notes and study cards uses some of it. Typing a question to the AI tutor uses a little, and so do Walk & study, turning pages of your material into cards, checking a photo of your work, Quiz me, and asking the AI tutor to change your notes. "About 30 classes a month" means typical classes, and you can mix it however you like. Long classes, long questions, or ones with photos use a bit more. Anything big shows what it will use before it starts.

Studying cards you already have, flash cards included, is always free and never uses your AI help. Each month of your plan adds new AI help (yearly plans add it month by month). The app shows what you have left.

What if I run out?
Studying your cards and flash cards keeps working on any plan. On Nightsesh Plus, your AI help and talk time refill with your next plan month, and there's nothing to buy in between. If you need more for something big, like finals, write to us at support@nightsesh.com and tell us what you need.

How do voice minutes work?

How do I cancel?
On iPhone or iPad: Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Nightsesh › Cancel Subscription. On a Mac: open the App Store, click your name, then Account Settings › Subscriptions › Manage. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. If you cancel during a free trial, you won't be charged. (Apple: cancel a subscription)

Will I be charged when the free trial ends?
Yes, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Nothing is charged when the trial starts.

Will Nightsesh remind me before my trial ends?
Yes, if you'd like. Nightsesh can send a reminder 2 days before your trial ends, with the price and the last moment to cancel. Turn it on or off on the trial card at the top of Plans.

Why didn't I get 7 days free?
Free trials are for new subscribers, one per Apple Account, on whichever plan you start. If this Apple Account has had Nightsesh Plus before, even under another Nightsesh account, the plan starts with the first payment.

How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, choose the Nightsesh purchase, and pick "Request a refund". We can't issue refunds ourselves, but if something went wrong, email us and we'll help. (Apple: request a refund)

I paid, but Nightsesh doesn't show my plan.
Open Plans in Nightsesh and tap Restore purchases at the bottom. Make sure you're signed in to Nightsesh and to the App Store with the same accounts you used when you paid. If it still doesn't show up, email us with the date of purchase. Never send your password.

My parent needs to approve it (Ask to Buy).
If your Apple Account is in a family group with Ask to Buy on, the request goes to your parent's device. The plan unlocks as soon as they approve, so you don't need to buy it again. If it doesn't appear after approval, open Plans and tap Restore purchases. Parents, see our page for parents.

Can I share my plan with my family (Family Sharing)?
No. Each Nightsesh plan covers one student and isn't shared through Family Sharing.

Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes, on Nightsesh's Plans screen or in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › Nightsesh. Apple handles the timing and shows you when the change starts.

Account and privacy

How do I sign in?
With Sign in with Apple. First confirm you're at least 13. You can choose to hide your email, and Apple then gives us a private relay address.

How do I delete my account?
In Nightsesh: Settings › Account › Delete account. This permanently deletes your study account from our servers: your synced Topics, Folders, material and uploaded files, notes, cards, conversations, test dates and deadlines, progress, feedback and balances. It can't be undone.

Deleting your account doesn't cancel an Apple subscription, so cancel that first (see above). Topics, notes and recordings saved on your device stay there until you delete them or the app.

Who sees my material?
Only you. You can't share your Topics or cards with other students, so your material stays yours. To answer you, Nightsesh's AI sends what it needs to Anthropic (Claude: typed questions, notes, cards, and the harder questions and photos you ask out loud) or OpenAI (live voice: your voice while you talk). Class recordings are turned into text on your device, and the audio isn't uploaded. Voice conversations are saved as words, never audio. See our Privacy Policy.

Nightsesh asked me about AI again. Why?
We ask whenever we add an AI provider or change what goes to one. This time: questions you ask out loud can now go to Anthropic (Claude) for harder answers, and what you say to the AI tutor is saved as words in your conversation.

Can I use Nightsesh without AI?
Yes. Turn AI study help off in Settings › AI & privacy. You can keep studying the cards and notes you already have, and recording and transcribing classes still work.

Safety

Is Nightsesh safe for teens?

What happens if I tell Nightsesh I'm not okay?
Nightsesh shows a support card with ways to get help right now: call or text 988, or call 911 in an emergency. Nightsesh doesn't notify anyone, and it doesn't block studying. Please reach out to a trusted adult too.

How do I report something?

We review every report. We remove content that breaks our Terms of Use and can close accounts that break them. For something urgent, email us with "Urgent" in the subject line.

Nightsesh's AI got something wrong.
It's AI, not a person, and it can make mistakes. It shows where each answer came from in your material, so you can check. Please report the mistake. It helps us fix it.

Getting started

What can I add?
Typed or pasted notes, photos of notes, whiteboards, textbook pages or slides, PDFs and other documents, handwriting (iPad with Apple Pencil), class recordings, and your teacher's study guide.

Which voice does the AI tutor use?
Marin, unless you pick another. Choose a voice in Settings › AI tutor › Voice, and tap play to hear each one first. The voice changes only how Nightsesh sounds.

What is Walk & study?
A short spoken study session made from your material, with a few quick questions. It downloads before you start, so it plays without a signal.

Can I use Siri?
Yes. Say "Ask Nightsesh", "Record class", "Make notes from my last class" or "Quiz me on my last class", or use the Record control in Control Center, on the Lock Screen or on the Action button.

Before recording a class, check your school's and teacher's rules on recording.

Which devices work?
iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later, and Mac with macOS 26 or later. Your Topics, Folders, notes and conversations sync across devices when you sign in with the same Apple Account.
